See the home. Understand the journey. Buy with confidence.

Everything you need to know

On Tuesday 5th May, Miller Rose is hosting a 90-minute First Home Buyer Masterclass at Progress Court in Warwick. You'll have a private viewing of one of our eight canal-side townhouses, then spend time with Marc Dueck, Director at ME Financial Services, working through deposits, borrowing power, mortgage options, and the different routes available to help make a first home possible. Sessions run at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. Spaces are limited and advance booking is recommended.

Buying your first home is rarely as simple as it sounds

Most first-time buyers we speak to have the same set of questions. How much deposit do I actually need? What can I genuinely borrow? What schemes are still worth considering? What does the process look like once an offer is accepted? And underneath all of that, the bigger one. Is the home I'm looking at actually right for me, or just the one I can afford to find? These questions tend to get answered separately. Mortgage advice without seeing real property feels abstract. Property viewings without understanding the financial picture feel premature. Most events focus on one or the other. This masterclass does both. In one place. In 90 minutes.

What the session involves

The format is straightforward. You'll be shown around Progress Court, our collection of eight three-bedroom townhouses on Nelson Lane, backing onto the Grand Union Canal. You'll see the actual layout, not a CGI. The kitchen island where the induction hob sits. The first-floor sitting room with its Juliet balcony over the water. The two double bedrooms on the top floor lit by rooflights. The garden that backs onto a boundary nobody can ever build over. Then you'll spend time with Marc Dueck, Director at ME Financial Services. Marc works with first-time buyers regularly.

What we'll cover

  • How deposits actually work, and what's realistic at different price points
  • The mortgage options available right now, and how they compare
  • Borrowing power, including what affordability calculations look at
  • The schemes and routes that can help first-time buyers get a foothold
  • The questions worth asking before you go any further
You can ask anything. There's no obligation to commit to a property, a mortgage product, or a follow-up. The point is to leave with a clearer understanding of where you stand.

Why we're doing this at Progress Court

Progress Court is built as a home for living in, not a starter flat to be outgrown in three years. Three proper floors with full ceiling heights throughout. Symphony Harvard kitchens with every Bosch appliance included as standard. Hansgrohe fittings in both bathrooms. Underfloor heating to the ground floor. Two parking spaces per home. A ten-year NHBC warranty. It's also walkable to Warwick town centre, walkable to the station with direct trains to Birmingham (25 minutes) and London Marylebone (90 minutes), and walkable to two of the area's most established schools. For first-time buyers planning to stay rather than move again in five years, that combination is rare. We wanted you to see it for yourself. Walk the rooms. Stand on the balcony. Decide whether it fits your life.

What to expect (and what not to)

This isn't a sales presentation. There's no slide deck built to push you towards a buying decision. Marc isn't there to sign you up to a mortgage on the day. We're not there to take a reservation before you've left the room. The aim is simpler. By the end of 90 minutes, you should understand more about how buying actually works, what your options realistically are, and whether Progress Court makes sense for your situation. That's it. If it does, we'll be glad to talk further. If it doesn't, you'll leave better informed than you arrived. That's the version of buying we'd want for ourselves.
