Loved by Locals
Kings Heath is renowned for its vibrant high street and variety of independent restaurants, cafes and shops. Just off the high street, you’ll find York Road, a bustling street full of some of Birmingham’s best independent restaurants and bars including POLI, a glorious pizza restaurant serving up spectacular woodfired pizza and Grace + James, where you’ll find a selection of local beer, European wine and a vast selection of cheese and charcuterie. Heading further along the high street you’ll find some fantastic local bakeries and shops including Pause and The Early Bird which serves up fantastic brunches and unique pastries that draw in visitors from all across the city. The high street is also home to the famous Hare and Hounds. This popular bar and music venue has been around since the 1800’s and has played host to many local legends. The venue was home to UB40’s first-ever gig in 1972 and has seen huge amounts of talent pass through its doors over recent years. However, the Hare and Hounds is far more than a music venue. With regular pub quizzes, delicious food and community events, this venue is a thriving hub for locals to relax, unwind and socialise.
